SNMP Trap Host Management

If you use Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) applications to monitor network devices, you can define SNMP trap hosts to receive Oracle FS System traps. Any workstation that has an SNMP-based management application installed on it can be a trap host.

Oracle Flash Storage Systems support SNMP version 2c. SET operations from SNMP management applications are not supported.

A management information base (MIB) table is a plain text file that provides the details on all system objects for which Oracle provides management information. To use the MIB file, you first download the file from the Utilities page of the Pilot management interface, and then import the file in to the SNMP management application.
Note: You can define event notifications as an alternative to SNMP.
