Defines the hardware components and system events to include in the log files.
You can define the collection period, select SAN hosts to gather information from, and choose if logs are sent to a Call‑Home server or downloaded to a workstation. You can also associate the log file with a server request (SR).
- Component or Item
Provides a list of available components and system events for data collection.
- Collect
- Indicates whether the object is selected for data collection
- Name
- Indicates the name of the object for data collection.
- Select buttons
Specifies all or a group of system components.
- Select All
- Sets all object events in the list to Yes. This selection provides a record of all events on the system.
- Deselect All
- Resets the available object events in the list to No so that no logs are collected.
- Collection Period
Controls the extent of information coverage for each selected source.
- Most Recent Logs
- Indicates the age of the collected data logs. For example, a setting of four hours means that the logs are less than four hours old. (Four hours is the default value. You can also specify days instead of hours.)
- All Logs Since Last Log Collection
- Indicates that the data collection logs are continually updated.
- SAN Host Log Selection
Allows you to select the SAN host for log collection:
Note: This feature is only available if the SAN host is running
Oracle FS Path Manager and the SAN hosts are logged in at the time of collection.
- Number of hosts selected for log collection
Indicates the number of hosts selected for log collection.
- Select Hosts
Opens a dialog that allows you to select recognized SAN hosts on the system for log collection.

- Indicates whether the host is selected for data collection.
- SAN host
- Indicates the name of the SAN host for data collection
- Notes
Provides user-defined information about the system logs collection. This information appears in the Notes column. The notes information appears in the Notes column of the System Logs overview page for easily identification. This information is also included in the header of the log bundle for identification.
The Notes field is also used to associate the log bundles with an open service request (SR). The SR number must be the first entry in the field. Add any other notes that are related to the log bundles after the SR number. Select the Send to Call-Home server option when using the SR number.

Collects the log and then transmits the log to the configured Call‑Home server.

- Creates the log bundle and then downloads that log bundle to a user specified directory on the workstation.
