Add Drive Groups to a Storage Domain

Add drive groups when you need to add particular Storage Classes to a Storage Domain. You might also need to add the drive groups to a Storage Domain to increase storage capacity.
Prerequisite

Drive groups with an unassigned status.

  1. Navigate to System > Storage Domains.
  2. Select all of the drive groups that you want to add to a Storage Domain.
  3. Select Actions > Add to Storage Domain.
  4. Select the Storage Domain to which you want the drive group to be assigned.
  5. (Optional) To distribute data from the other drive groups in the Storage Domain to the drive groups that you are adding, select the Rebalance volume data option.
  6. Confirm that the drive groups that you selected are listed in the Drive groups to be included list.
  7. (Optional) Select the Include check box for any Additional Drive Groups to Include in the Storage Domain.
  8. Click OK.
    The system begins assigning the drive groups to the selected Storage Domain.
  9. (Optional) Click Tasks from the status bar to view the detailed status of the task that is adding the drive groups.
