Delete a Host Group

Delete a host group when the group is no longer needed.

When possible, delete a host group that contains no host entries. If you delete a host group that contains host entries, the system prompts you for more action on how to map the entries.
  1. Navigate to SAN > Storage > Hosts.
  2. Select Actions > Manage SAN Host Groups.
The system displays the Manage SAN Host Groups dialog.
  3. From the Manage SAN Host Groups, Groups tab, select a host group from the available list.
  4. Click Delete.
The host group is removed from the list.
  5. Click OK.
If the host group was empty when you deleted it, the system deletes the host group from the system. However, if the host group contains mapped host entries, more information is required about how to map the LUNs that were mapped to the host entry that you deleted from the host group.
  6. (Optional) From the Confirm SAN Host Group Unassociation of Hosts dialog, specify how to process the LUN mappings for the mapped host entries.
    Valid options:
    • Retain Host Mappings

    • Delete Mappings

  7. Click OK.

Review the Host Access status from the LUNs overview page for the affected LUNs. Verify that the host mapping are correct.
