Move a Volume Group to a Different Volume Group

If needed, you can reorganize your volume groups. For example, you can remove the child volumes from a parent volume group.

As you assign LUNs and possibly other volume groups to a selected volume group, Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) provides you with a preview of your selected change in the Volume Groups overview page.

Navigate to SAN > Volume Groups.
Select Actions > Manage Volume Groups.
From the Volume Groups tab, select the volume group that you want to move.
Click Modify.
From the Parent Volume Group Name list, select the volume group that you want to be the parent.

Tip: To move the volume group outside of all custom volume groups, select <none>.
Click OK.
Click OK.
