Reset the Primary Administrator Password

If you forget the Primary Administrator password, an Administrator 1 can reset it.

To reset your Primary Administrator password, use one of the following methods:
  • Use an Administrator 1 account, if one exists, to reset the password. The Primary Administrator and administrators who are assigned to the Administrator 1 role can change the password of any customer-defined administrator account without knowing the previous password. A Support administrator cannot reset the Primary Administrator password.
  • Click Reset password on the Login screen and follow the instructions in the Reset Password dialog. You must have either your old password or your password token to reset your password. If you do not have your password token, click Forgot password on the Login screen and follow the instructions in the Forgot Password dialog.
    Note: The Forgot password mechanism requires that an email account has been configured for the account for which the password has been forgotten. The system sends the instructions to that email address. Follow the instructions recorded in that email.

If you are an Administrator 1, use the following steps to reset the password.

  1. Navigate to System > Global Settings > Administrator Accounts.
  2. Select an account name from the list of login names.
  3. Select Actions > Modify.
  4. Enter the new password in both the Password and Confirm Password fields.
  5. Click OK.
