Assigning a Break Rule to a Location

  1. In Reporting and Analytics, click Labor Management, and then click Payroll Preprocessing.
  2. In Payroll Preprocessing, click Admin, and then click Break Rules Location Assignment.
  3. Select the locations to assign the break rule from the Location Selection pane, and click Add Break Rule or Add Minor Break Rule depending on your requirement.
  4. Select the relevant Break Rule or Minor Break Rule, and then select the effective dates for the break rule.
  5. Click the Config tab, select the relevant settings that effect the locations that you selected, and then click Save.
    The following settings are for the selected organization or locations. They do not need to be configured every time a new break rule is assigned.
    • Enforce Schedule Break: Select this option to ensure the employee is required to take his/her break when it is scheduled.

    • Prompt for Break: Select this option to prompt employees for confirmation before clocking out for breaks.

    • Authorization Required for Early from Paid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock in early from a paid break.

    • Authorization Required for Late from Paid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock in late from a paid break.

    • Authorization Required for Early from Unpaid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock in early from an unpaid break.

    • Authorization Required for Late from Unpaid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock in late from an unpaid break.

    • Authorization Required for Early to Paid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock out early to a paid break.

    • Authorization Required for Late to Paid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock out late to a paid break.

    • Authorization Required for Early to Unpaid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock out early to an unpaid break.

    • Authorization Required for Late to Unpaid Break: Select this option to require management authorization for employees to clock out late to an unpaid break.
