Enrolling New System Administrator Users for the Command Center

You must create, or enroll, new administrator users for access and use of the Command Center for your organization. The system administrator is the only user role in the Command Center application, and all administrators have the same (full) privileges.

You must be provided with the bootstrap user ID and password, defined during installation, to create new system administrators. The individual who is provided with the bootstrap user ID and password might typically create a personal system administration account first, then create additional accounts for other Command Center users.

The process of creating the first system administrator and additional ones is the same.

NOTE:  Preserve the bootstrap administrator ID and password. You can never change them. A database administrator can deactivate and reactivate the default bootstrap user access account. For details, see Implementation Guide for Oracle Billing Insight.

You can optionally change the default system administrator ID and password requirements. For information about setting the enrollment properties, see Setting Enrollment Properties. Also see Implementation Guide for Oracle Billing Insight.

To enroll a new system administrator

  1. Start your Internet browser, and enter the URL for the Command Center:

    https://localhost:7003/selfservice

    where:

    • localhost is the name of the Command Center application server.
    • 7003 is the port number of the Command Center application server.
  2. On the Login Administrator page, enter the administrator ID and password created for the bootstrap user during the installation process. Click Submit.
  3. At the Enter Administrator's User Information page, enter a new value for each of the following fields to create a new system administrator user:
    • Administrator ID. You cannot use the bootstrap administrator ID created during the installation.
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address
    • Confirm Email Address
  4. Confirm the email address, and click Submit.
  5. Provide each individual adminstrator user with his or her new system administrator ID.
  6. Each new administrator user must follow the steps in Creating a Password to Log Into the Command Center for the First Time to create a password.
  7. Once you have created all of the system administrators you require, deactivate the bootstrap user for the Command Center to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). For details on deactivating the bootstrap user from the Command Center, see Implementation Guide for Oracle Billing Insight.
