Configuring a Coin Dispenser

1. In the EMC, select the property, click Setup and Workstations.
2. Double-click the workstation to open it in form view.
3. Click the Devices tab.
4. In the Peripheral Device Configuration section, click Add.
5. In the Select Peripheral Device Type drop-down list, select Coin Dispenser.
6. Enter the COM Port, and click OK.
7. Click Save.
8. On the workstation, allow the configuration change to download to the client.
9. Connect the coin dispenser’s serial cable to the appropriate COM port.
10. Restart the workstation.
11. If the workstation is a Win32 client, modify the device settings for the COM port to match the COM Port you set in Step 6.

    Ensure that a workstation with a coin dispenser attached does not have a printer or other device configured for the same COM port as the coin dispenser. Having another device connected but not in use can cause problems with coin dispenser operations.

12. Restart the workstation.
13. Verify that the coin dispenser is connected and ready for operation:
    1. Sign in to the workstation as an employee with PMC privileges.
    2. Launch PMC and click the Functions tab.
    3. Click Device Diagnostics.
    4. Click Dispense Change. The coin dispenser should dispense a penny.
