Remarks on the Program Function

For the item specific registration, each item is defined in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program with a unique item number. In each item record, the price and description of the item and other information about the item are also stored

During item registration, the item number is entered into the system using the keyboard. This may be performed using the <Item> key or using existing <Item preset> keys.

Item

Event-Code = ART | Data = none | ASCII

With this key, you can enter the number of an item defined in the system. For "open" items (items without a fixed price), the price has to be also entered using the <Item> key.

Item Preset

Event Code = FW | Data =item number | ASCII

These keys are preset with fixed item numbers and allow quick posting of individual items without having to enter the item numbers. Simply press the specific item key to post the item.

Item search

Event Code = SEARCHART | Data = none | ASCII

This key is used to search for specific items in the item file.

Items can be searched for according to the following search criteria:

By Item Number
By Department Number
By Item Designation
By Match Code
By 1st to 4th selection

Searching for Item by Item Number:
Press the <Item Search> key, enter the starting item number for searching, and press the <ST> key. With the <Page Up/Down> keys, you can select the required item.

Searching for Item by Department Number:
Press the <Item Search> key and enter the number of the department. After the department number is entered and the department key is pressed, the first item of this department will be displayed. With the <Page Up/Down> keys, the required item can be selected.

Searching for Items by Designation:

Press the <Item Search> key and press the <ASCII> key to enter one or more characters of the description of the required item. All items with designations containing the entered character string will be displayed. With the <Page Up/Down> keys, the required item can be selected.

For the search of items by designation, the appropriate ASCII characters have to be defined for the Keyboard.

Searching for items by match code

Press the <SEARCHART> key and then the <MATCH> key and enter the text which matches a designation in the article data record. All items which match up are then offered in a selection window.

Searching for items by selection no.

Press the <fWIN> key and enter the selection no. to display all items linked to this selection number. The number must have been recorded in program Item -> Sales in field "Selection number".
