Remote Maintenance of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS system
It
is generally possible to access another computer via DTM. There are some Requirements, though, that have to be met
on both the side of the hotline computer and the customer’s computer. These
preconditions will be pointed out in the first step. In the second step, you
will be informed about how to establish a
Connection. Some Examples will
illustrate the process.
- UNIX OpenServer V
- MICROS Retail OSCAR POS installation
- The establishment of a connection must be started
from the task on which the graphical user interface is active, this would
normally be Task 2.
- You have to be signed on at this task as oscar.
- The name of the customer’s computer must be known
and entered in the file /etc/hosts.
- The TCP/IP address of the customer’s computer
must be known and entered in the file /etc/hosts.
- Make sure the screen solutions are equivalent.
This will allow you to work with actually all of the screen masks of the
other computer.
