Interfaces / Connections / Network
- For all V24 interfaces, the distance between the
computer and the device is generally limited to 15 m. Longer distances
require level transformers or a cable with little attenuation.
- With printers, it generally does not matter if
COM 1 or COM 2 is being used, as long as the interfaces are not occupied.
- Ethernet: For this standard connection, the
common restrictions have to be considered.
- A cross-linking can be carried out
alternatively:
- via the Ethernet card integrated by default
with a connection via a hub (must be ordered additionally!).
- via a network card which has to be installed
additionally (connection via T-piece).
- For the remote maintenance, a fast LAN access is
to be guaranteed. This can be achieved by a fast modem connection, an ISDN
line in the LAN or similar equipment.
- If a multi interface card is in use, COM 2 is not
available.
- Via the multi interface card as well as COM 1 und
COM 2, all devices are connected that can be addressed via the standard
tty drivers (e.g. not LSV,
BSC).
