The data programmed in the
individual keys of the keyboard layout can then be loaded into TopKey connected
to your PC via the keyboard interface. The work sheet should firstly be stored
so that it can be re-opened and, if necessary, be revised.
The programmed data is
translated during the loading operation and it is stored in the file with
extension "...DAT". The name of this file matches the name of the
keyboard defined for your layout during storage. This file is then transferred
to TopKey via the keyboard interface of the PC. The system is blocked for any
other action during this transmission. The loading operation can take up to 1
minute depending on the volume of data.
NOTE:
The key assignment of a connected TopKey is overwritten when the loading
operation is activated!
Exit this dialog window
(definition file) by clicking on button "Abort" if the work sheet has
not yet been stored.
Open menu "File" and click on "Store as" if a new
layout is to be processed. Select where the keyboard layout is to be stored from the dialog
"Store under". (The work sheets should be stored in the same place as
the program files for this version of the keyboard). Enter a name for the
layout in field "File name". Select the setting
"Keyboard-Files(*.kbd)" in field "File type" and then click
on button "Store". Help can be called up in dialog window "Store
under" with "?" and then clicking on the subject on which help
is required.
Open menu "File" and
click on the selection "Store" if an existing layout is to be stored
under the same name (back-up) oder click on the disk symbol in the tool bar.
Constant parameters:
With "Constant
parameter" of the dialog field the field
"File" shows the drive, file and file name under which your
keyboard layout has been stored.
Field "No. of keys"
shows the size of the keyboard defined in the "Start dialog".
This part of the dialog field
allows for entry of a country to adjust TopKey to the code page and the
keyboard code of another country.
A country is set by clicking
on the arrow to the right of entry field "Country" and selecting a
country from the list by double clicking on the appropriate name.
Click on button "OK"
to load the key programming onto TopKey. A window with the message "Please
wait" appears during loading.
Click on button
"Abort" if no other loading operation is to be started.
