Programming of a key error
message is an option which only applies to the TopKey versions with 60 and 98
keys. A programmed key error message is transferred from the 60/98-key TopKey
to the PC if two keys are depressed simultaneously on this keyboard.
A key error message is
programmed as follows:
Click on the dialog window
"Operation type" and then on the
box "Key error" to deactivate the button
"Definition".
Click on button
"Definition" to open dialog window "Assistant".
Select the level for which the
key error message is to be programmed by clicking on the appropriate tab
margin. The standard setting is always the "Standard level".
Position the cursor on the
entry line by clicking on the mouse key.
Enter the characters which are
to be linked to the key error message. The characters are accepted 1:1 in the
message.
Enter function keys and key
combinations, if applicable (s. " – Entry examples" in the help text
of dialog "Characteristics"). Use the appropriate button in window
section "Linkage" to enter the brackets. (Button "]"
automatically includes the required leading blank).
Enter the function key
descriptors in the square brackets with the help of the selection list in
window section "Code words" by double clicking on the term
required. (More details on the function descriptors can be found in the
TopKey documentation).
Enter key combinations and
cascaded frame keys by clicking on button "+". Use the function key
descriptors shown in the selection list in window section "Code
words".
Enter individual characters
after the link "+" via the keyboard by setting the cursor behind the
"+" in the entry line (see " – Entry examples" in the help
texts of dialog "Characteristics").
Enter special character
* [ : twice if it is to be evaluated as a normal text
character (see " Entry examples" in the help texts of dialog
"Characteristics").
Please note the colour codes
of the syntax supervision during entry.
Follow the same procedure if
the key error messages are to be programmed on another level.
Click on button "OK"
to confirm the programming of the key error messages or click on
"Abort" if no key error messages are to be programmed.
Return to dialog window
"Operation types" in both cases..
Make any further settings
necessary and click on button "OK" to confirm all settings.
Click on "Abort" to
reject all settings (including the settings in the lower dialog "Assistant"
which is confirmed with "OK").
Please remember that you
should save your keyboard layout regularly to ensure that you can refer to the
original version should errors be made during by mistake during processing.
