Example of an EAN Press Code (Sales Price in Code)
By
use of the EAN press code, magazines, newspaper and other periodic media are
scanned while books are generally scanned via the ISBN press code.
The
following image displays the structure of an EAN press code.
Notes:
- Items (magazines etc.) are generally not recorded
precisely but according to an item group. Therefore, these items are not
to be configured as Items. When the EAN is
entered, the system recognizes automatically (by use of the
identification) that it is a press code.
- An example of the parameter settings can be found
in the chapter Parameter Settings EAN
Press Code.
- The following price-related statements apply to
the Federal Republic of Germany only. Products that have been manufactured
in Germany but are distributed in another country are PLU-able, though.
Products that are distributed in Germany but have not been manufactured
there can be used via the PLU due to the EAN code.
- The EAN press code differs from the other EAN
codes by the integrated sales price. However, it differs from the ISBN
code since the latter contains the encoded price in the additional code.
