Starting the Sales Debug
In
order to allow booking processes to be controlled internally, you can start the
Sales debug. The Sales debug is a protocol in which all
transactions carried out in the terminal system are listed.
Sales Debug in UNIX
- Stop the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application via MICROS Retail OSCAR POS stop.
- Enter the command SALESDEBUG=Y,
- then export SALESDEBUG
- Start the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application again via MICROS Retail OSCAR POS start.
- Enter tail -f errlog.
Sales Debug in WINDOWS NT
- Activation of the sales debug
- Stop the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application.
- Open the file MICROS Retail OSCAR POS.ini by use of a text
editor (e.g. WordPad).
- Move to the line __SALESDEBUG=<free text>
- Delete the two underlines (__) to activate the sales debug.
- Save the file.
- Start the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application again.
- Deactivation of the sales debug
- Proceed as described above but insert the
deleted underlines again.
- Note:
- Since the sales
debug needs memory space and can slow down the application,
you should only activate it if you actually need a protocol.
Notes!
For
both UNIX and WINDOWS NT applies:
- The protocol is recorded in the file errlog.
- Since the errlog grows in size quickly, it is
often useful to delete the errlog file before the start of the sales debug. A new errlog will be
created automatically with the start of the sales debug.
