Items are to be assigned to a particular stock via
stock tables of which the assigned stock types refer to the corresponding
stock.
To every item that is characterized as a stock item, a
particular stock type has to be assigned.
The same items such as food or beverages etc. should
be assigned to a stock type with a corresponding expressive name.
Note:
The advantage of
stock types and tables is that the same items can be assigned to different
stock locations at different profit centers and POS terminals. Accordingly,
making subsequent changes will be simple. For example, if for any reason, the
stock is to be assigned to another stock location for all items of the stock
type, only the stock location for the stock type has to be changed to change
the stock location assignment for all items of this stock type.
Stock Type 1 = Food
In the following
example, the items 10, 11, and 12 have been assigned to the stock type Food.
The stock type refers to the stock Kitchen Stock.
Stock Type 2 = Beverages
In the following
example, the items 1, 2, and 3 have been assigned to the stock type Beverages.
The stock type refers to the stock Beverage Stock.
The stock types are recorded in stock tables. The
stock table is assigned to a branch, a profit center or a terminal.
In general, you only have to assign a stock table to a
branch if all items within the branch have the same stock location at every
profit center and every terminal.
On the other hand, if the same items are to be
assigned to different stock locations at the different profit centers or
terminals, a separate stock table has to be assigned to the related terminal or
profit center.
Example Stock Table 1:
In the following
example, the stock type 1 of the stock table 1 refers to the stock location
"Kitchen Stock", and the stock type 2 refers to the stock location
"Beverages".
If the same stock location assignment is to apply to
all items of a branch, you only have to assign the stock table 1 to the branch.
If different stock assignments are to apply in
individual profit centers of this branch or at single terminals of these profit
centers, you have to assign a different stock table to these profit centers or
terminals.
Example Stock Table 2:
In the following example, the stock type
1 of the stock table 2 refers to the stock location "Bar 1" and the
stock type 2 refers to the stock location "Bar 2".
The stock table 2 can be assigned to the profit
centers or terminals to which the other stock assignment (which differs from
the stock table 1 that applies to the whole branch) is to apply.
Examples Stock Assignment in the Branch:
In the following example, you see the organisation of a branch with two profit
centers and 4 POS terminals. By use of the assignment of different stock tables,
the same items can be administered at the various profit centers and POS
terminals in different stock locations.
Changes to the basic data of the items are not
necessary for this organisation since the assignment to the relevant stock
location takes place via the stock type of the corresponding stock table.
In this example, the stock locations for all items are
the same at the profit centers 1 and 2 and the terminals 1, 2, and 3. Only at
terminal 4, the items have been assigned to other stock locations. The stock
types of the stock table 2 refer to other stock locations.
