Creating a Trouble Disk for Windows NT 4.0
We strongly recommend that a trouble disk is created
for every configured computer. This disk can be very helpful in case of a
system crash.
Procedure:
- On the Windows screen
- Close all Windows applications.
- Click on "Start"
- then on "Run".
- Enter "rdisk /S". Confirm via OK.
- "Saving Configuration" appears.
Afterwards you will be asked if you would like to create a trouble disk.
Click on "yes".
- According to the requirement, insert a floppy
disk in the disk drive, confirm via OK. Please note that any data on the
disk will be deleted.
- The disk will be formatted, and the data will be
copied to the disk.
- Confirm the concluding message via OK.
- On the DOS level
- Open the DOS window.
- Enter "rdisk /S". Confirm via OK.
- "Saving Configuration" appears.
Afterwards you will be asked if you would like to create a trouble disk.
Click on "yes".
- According to the requirement, insert a floppy
disk in the disk drive, confirm via OK. Please note that any data on the
disk will be deleted.
- The disk will be formatted, and the data will be
copied to the disk.
- Confirm the concluding message via OK.
- Close the DOS window by use of the command
"Exit" to return to the Windows interface.
Keep the disk near your computer.
