The program description
deals with the following:
Data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
application program, type Administration
can be updated with this program, i.e. new data can be programmed, other data
can be changed or cleared. Stored data can also be displayed for information
purposes.
Individual programs can be
linked to the appropriate groups. The entry mask for the programs of each group
can differ as data for the program call-up has to be updated depending on the Program
type.
All options available for
update of the basic data have been described below.

the following also applies here:

program types by clicking onto the field and defining what is required with
another click.
The following
program types are offered:
Entry range permitted:
numeric, 1 - 9999
Changes or clear operations
are carried out by entering the data record number in the key fields. These can
be selected with the Search if the number is not known.
Enter a free number in the key
fields.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
application should be entered in this field.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
FSM file is entered here. FSM stands for Finite State Machine . The function sequences are
defined in these files.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language with which
the report programs are written. The instructions of a 4GL file are interpreted
during the running time. A user who is acquainted with the 4GL language can
adapt reports to suit requirements.
Entry range permitted:
numeric, 1 - 99
The entry in this field
should be the number of the user group assigned to this application.
If the number is not known,
the Search can
be used to find the data record.
Access to areas of the
application (sales, stores, organisation, etc.) can be restricted for the
operators. This is done by defining access authorisation in a group
profile for
programs in an application group. This defines which activities can be handled
by which operator in which sector.

Enter the number of the
frame for this application in this field. The frame no. refers to a form in
which the layout of the program window as it appears on the screen is defined.

This field takes the name
of the FGL file which is activated from depression of button "Print".
Normally, this is the FGL file with which the basic data of the application
in question is printed.

Switch active: When the application is started up,
all data records are shown in a window.
Switch deactivated: The data records of this
application will only be displayed in the list window after activation of
"Search".
Switch active: Automatic storage when the
application is exited.
Switch deactivated: Query as to whether storage is required appears when
the application is exited.
