Remarks on program function

The files for the version control parameters can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed.

The version control parameters can be used to define which files are to be used to ascertain the checksums for the directories or individual files of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. The report "Version Control" can be printed on the basis of the parameters defined here and this report shows the checksums of individual files, of whole directories and the master checksum of all program files. This report can be used as a comparison document or as a version control for the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program.


Remarks on data fields

The following details all options available for update of the basic data.

The following applies to this program:


Position

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

The numbers for the positions under which this group is to be stored in the list of the version control parameters are entered in this field.

The entry in field File name (or Directory name) defines whether this position is a directory or an individual file which is to be checked for a version control.


Group name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 8 pos.

Enter a group name in this field under which the checksum for the directory or an individual file is to be printed in report System -> Check -> Version control.

Note:
Files which contain the detailed checksums of all files of the directory concerned (e.g. FSM.checksum, BIN.checksum etc.) will be created in directory "..\work" for each group in addition to report print "Version Control". Existing files will be cleared when the report is called up.


File name (Directory name)

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 60 pos.

Enter the path for the directory or for an individual file which is to be subjected to a version control operation.

For example

·        ..\bin\
(for the check of a complete directory with all sub-directories).

·        ..\bin\libui.dll
(for the check of an individual file).


Checksum calculation

Button activated: The checksum for the directory or for this file is calculated.
Button deactivated: No checksum is calculated for the directory or this file.


Report

Button active: The checksum is shown in the report Version Control.
Button deactivated: The checksum is not shown in the report Version Control.

Report Version Control can be printed via System -> Checks -> Version control and in this program via the menu Report.
