The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

The data for an operating module, type Top Cash can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

In addition to the specific data of this device, the number of the Installation, the process unit and a device no. must be assigned. Moreover, the Device interface and if required the name and serial no. should also be stated.

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:


Keyboard no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the keyboard if the option Keyboard has been activated for this device. A keyboard is programmed in the system with update program Keyboard.

If the keyboard no. is not known, the data record can be called up with Search.


Keyboard size

If the option Keyboard has been activated for this device the user can select the required keyboard by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

Note:
Only enter a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol of communications is required for error analysis. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.

Start Scroll Area

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the line no. to be used for the beginning of scrolling if any display has been selected via Operator display for this device.

NOTE!
Value 0 should be set if this device has a 2-line display.


End Scroll Area

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the line no. to be used for the end of scrolling if any display has been selected via Operator display for this device. The value entered here must be higher than the one entered for beginning of scroll.

NOTE!
Value 0 should be set if this device has a 2-line display.


Error beep duration

Default: 000 = never ending

The duration of the error beep is defined in this field. Values between 100 and 25500 milliseconds are possible.


Customer display

The user can select which kind of customer display has been connected to the device.

The system offers the following displays:

  • - (no customer display)
  • LCD before 2001-04
  • LCD after 2001-04
  • TOPlook old (default)
  • TOPlook new
  • TOPlook for export

Select one of the screen modes offered for usage of the customer display if any LCD has been selected via Customer display for this device. The selection is made by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming what has been chosen.

The system offers the following settings:

  • 42x16 437
  • 32x10 437 (default)
  • 36x14 437
  • 21x8 437
  • 32x10 852

Start Scroll Area

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the line no. to be used for the beginning of scrolling if any LCD has been selected via Customer display for this device.

NOTE!
Value 0 should be set if this device has a 2-line display.


End Scroll Area

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the line no. to be used for the beginning of scrolling if any LCD has been selected via Customer display for this device. The entry here must be higher than theentry for the start scroll area.

Keyboard

Switch activated: This operator module has a keyboard
Switch deactivated: No keyboard


Beeper

Switch activated: This device supports a beeper
Switch deactivated: No beeper


Scanner

Switch activated: A scanner is connected up to this device
Switch deactivated: No scanner


Magnetic cardreader

Switch activated: The integrated magnetic card reader is ready to operate
Switch deactivated: No integrated magnetic card reader supported


Chip card reader

Switch activated: Chip card reader is ready to operate
Switch deactivated: No chip card reader supported

If chip card reader is activated, additional data should be entered in fields Key, Event, ASCII-BIN convert and Prefix in program Chip data.

Note:
Please note that if chip cards are used the card reading parameters in update program Application -> Organisation -> Branch -> Card reader parameter must be updated so that the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program can read the required data of the card and can carry out the appropriate functions on the ECR.


Waiter lock

Switch activated: Waiter lock is ready to operate
Switch deactivated: Waiter lock is not supported


Central lock

Switch activated: Central lock is ready to operate
Switch deactivated: No central lock supported
