Remarks on the Program Function

With this program you can maintain the basic data of credit card issuers in the system, i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.

The program enables you to restrict the cards of a given issuer to a certain range of numbers. By doing this you can determine, for example, if all cards of the issuer are permitted in the system, or just the national ones are permitted or not permitted.

Remarks on data fields

The following details all options available for update of the basic data.

The following applies to this program:

The entry mask may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the user program. Some data fields may be missing.
Some data fields may have defaults or defined selection options so that they cannot be updated in this program.
The entry mask may contain fields with enforced entries, and in other fields entries may be optional.
If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
The procedure is the same if you want to call up another update program from this program.
In some cases you may find the so-called. "Switches" which are either activated or deactivated - depending on the setting - by clicking with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Each allowed number range will be stored under a unique number. The numbers can be assigned arbitrarily, but should be in consecutive sequence.

Number pattern

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 20 characters

In this field the valid card numbers are defined (credit card institute-related; e.g. EuroCard 5232 or 5200-5299). This can be achieved by entering the permissible start digits of the card numbers, either one single starting digit or a range of numbers.

Examples:

5: All card numbers preceding with 5.
5432-5435: All cards with starting digits between 5432 and 5435, e.g. 543212289, 54348567 etc.
54328800252: All cards with numbers equal to or greater than 54328800252.

Note that any entry in the Length field may restrict the range of the permissible card numbers.

Length

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 40

The maximal length of the card numbers is defined here. The standard value is 16. Make sure the value entered here does not contradict the value entered in the Number Pattern field.

Note:

· ID no. and length can be made visible with tool SALESDEBUG.

Deny national use only

Button activated : If the card is read by the system to be a national card, the card will be rejected.
Button deactivated :. National cards are accepted.
