Print Form Group

The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

The data for a print form group can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

Print form groups describe the layouting of the receipt and form print and can be used for receipt and form print as from MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Version 3.5.

Click on the graphic for further help with setting up the Print form groups.

The receipt and form layouting via program code in the appropriate FGL files will remain valid and will automatically apply to the receipt or form layout if there is no description of a print form to be found in the linked print form group. This implies that with print on receipt and form the information in the user-defined print form group will be read first and then in the linked standard form group. If both print form groups contain no information on the receipt and form print, the information from the FGL program code for the receipt and form print will be extracted.

In the standard version of Oscar Version 3.5, ".asc files" for two print form groups are supplied for receipt and form layout. Print form group "1 Default receipt" for receipt control and print form group "2 Default Form" for form print control.

If these print form groups are to be used, the appropriate database tables should be filled in advance with information from the *.asc files for print control.

This is done by executing the following commands in directory "work":

·        oscar init PrintForm

·        oscar init PrintFormGrp

·        oscar init PrintCond

·        oscar init PrintSection

·        oscar init TextItem

Alternatively, the FGL script  "reloadStdPrintForm.fgl" can be done for loading of the *.asc files.

Remarks on data fields

The following details all options available for update of the basic data.

The following applies to this program:

Group name

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the name of the print form group in this field.

Print form group "1 = Default Receipt" is the standard for receipt control and "2 Default Form" for form print layout.

Note:

Normally, adjustments to receipt and form print are done with changes to the standard groups 1 and 2. If the user wishes to set up a dedicated print form group, it is advisable to copy the complete standard group with command "Copy object tree" in menu "Process". Then to store this copy under a new number in the system.

When using user-defined print form groups it is possible to link the standard group (1 or 2) in field Standard group. In such a case the information is read firstly from the user-defined print form group and is then read from the standard group.

Standard group

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the print form group for the standard group of print form groups. Linkage of a standard group is optional and is only necessary if standard groups 1 and 2 are also to be used. In such a case the information from the user-defined print form group is read first followed by the information from the standard group.

The following standard groups are supplied at present with MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Version 3.5:

This is done by executing the following commands in directory "work":

·        oscar init PrintForm

·        oscar init PrintFormGrp

·        oscar init PrintCond

·        oscar init PrintSection

·        oscar init TextItem
