The following program description deals with:
By use of this program, you can maintain the quantity units in the system, add new units, change or delete the existing ones.
Quantity units are assigned to sales, stock, and supplier items. Based on the quantity unit of an item, the stock postings and price calculations can be carried out.
As quantity units are required for programming items this step must be the first one. Careful planning of the quantity units required is therefore imperative.
If, for example, an item with quantity unit Bottle 0,7 litre is to be purchased or sold, the quantity unit 0,7 litre must be defined to be able to link the item to it.
In the system, there is a distinction made between base unit and quantity unit. The base units are litre, kilogram, piece, etc. and quantity units are fractions or multiples of a base unit. Quantity units such as litre, kilogramme and piece do not have superior base units, as they are the basis for all quantity units stored in the system. All other quantity units must be linked to a base unit.

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.
Just like in almost any other program:
Permitted input range: numeric, (1 - 9999)
Enter the number of the company, for which the quantity units are to be processed.
If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search Function.
Permitted input range: numeric, (1 - 99)
Enter the number of the quantity unit to be inserted into the system or to be modified.
If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search Function.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 characters
Enter the name of the quantity unit. Use a meaningful descriptive text, such as Kilogram, Litre, .7 litre bottle, Piece, 6 Pack, etc. to ensure that no problems occur with assignment of quantity units.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 4 characters
Enter the abbreviated description of the unit, e.g. Kg for Kilogram, Lt for Litre, etc.
Permitted input range: numeric (1 - 99)
Enter the base unit of the quantity unit.
Example:
Quantity Unit = .7 litre bottle
Base unit = Litre
The base units (e.g. litre, kilogram, piece) have no subunits.
Permitted input range: decimal, max. 14 digits including max. 3 decimal places
Enter the contents of the base unit contained in the quantity unit.
Example:
Bottle of .7 litre: base unit = "litre",
Contents = ".7"
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the permitted values (0 to 3) to define the maximum number of decimal places which can be entered when recording weighed goods.
Example:
