Remarks on the Program Function
By use of this program you can maintain the data for the web page structure and the contents of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop, i.e. create new data records, modify or delete existing data. You can also view already stored data for information purposes.
The web pages of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop are arranged as a tree. Similar to the organization in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program, where items are assigned to the departments and departments are assigned to the main departments, you can configure web pages and sub-pages with this program and fill these pages with sales items.
The following image shows an example of the organization of web pages in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop:
Starting from the parent mask 1, you can add further positions to this page to assign shop departments or shop items to this page. A page that contains entries on other pages (=departments) cannot contain entries for items at the same time.
The image shows that the page contains 1 4 entries for the pages 1000 to 1003. Page no. 1000 contains an entry for another page (1004). The pages 1001, 1002, 1003 and 1004 contain entries for items only.
Remarks on the Input Fields
This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.
Just like in almost any other program:
- The Input Mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.
- Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
- The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
- If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the Dialog Window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.
Company
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the company to which this shop content or shop item is to be assigned. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.
Shop No.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop for which you would like to maintain the shop contents / the shop items. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.
Parent Mask No.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the parent mask (product start page of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop) for which you would like to maintain the shop contents/ the shop items. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.
Position No.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the position you would like to maintain for this parent mask. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.
The positions on a web page of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop can only consist of other pages (departments) or only of items. Via the button "Shop Department" or "Shop Item", you open another update mask in which you can add the departments or the items to the referred web page.
Name
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 32 chars.
Enter the name of the web page. Use eloquent names (e.g. beverages, spirits, food, etc.), to make the navigation within the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS internet shop easier for the customer.
Description
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 32 chars.
Enter an additional description of the web page.
Item No.
Permitted input range: decimal, max. 14 positions
Enter the item number you would like to add to this web page. Only items permitted as sales items in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program are permissive.
Mask No.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999
Displays the number of the mask as it has been stored in the system.
