Remarks on the Program Function

The field/field descriptors in the menu are updated with this program. Please ensure that only text changes are made. This program should only be completed in exceptional cases. The following therefore does not describe all fields.

Note!

If the program is called up directly from the menu, the standard setting is that the screen mask is shown immediately. This is linked to Menu type Menu fields. Further fields appear on the screen depending on the menu type selection or fields are blended out.

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.

Just like in almost any other program:


Frame No.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Enter the frame number in order to insert a new menu item or modify an existing one in this application window. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function (here Search list with entry).

Field no.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every menu entry must be programmed in the system under a field no. which can be assigned several times but only in conjunction with a different form no. The uniqueness of a number stems therefore from the link to the form.

New forms are programmed from entry of a new number. If this is to be changed, the data record is called up from entry of the field no..


Menu No.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Enter the number of the menu in which the changes are to be made. If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search function.


Menu name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The menu names are the internal names of the menu item. If you do not know the number, the data record can be selected with the Search key (telescope).

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

Menu text

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 32 pos.

Enter the name of the menu item. This text is the name which appears in the screen mask.

Example:
Names of menu items which are shown after clicking on menu Choice -> Application in menu Chain report (e.g. Chain report 1). 

The same applies here as with form names: If the form text is entered and Search key (telescope) activated, the remaining data will be shown in the entry mask.


Speed key

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The command with which this menu item can be called up via the keyboard is entered in this field.

 

Example:

Enter command <KEY>F4 in this field so that "Search" can be called up with the F4 key.


Key abbreviation

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 10 pos.

The text for the key command which is to be completed when this item is activated can be entered in this field.


Command

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the command which is to be executed when this item is activated is entered in this field.


Parameter

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

Additional parameters which are to apply during execution of this menu item can be entered in this field.

 

If the menu item for call up of a report chain is to be created, the name of the report chain must be entered here.

Please note that this name must match the spelling in program System -> User interface -> Application -> Chain report


Position

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
