Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program, you can maintain the menu options, e.g. the option Permanent Help of the menu Help. Please note that in this program the maintenance should exclusively refer to text modifications. Execute this program in exceptional cases only. Not all fields will be described in the following.

Notes:

• Depending on the selected menu type, the screen mask varies. Some fields may be added, others are possibly missing.
• If you make changes they generally refer to text modifications or the deletion and insertion of particular fields in/ from the mask (Option: Dis/Enable). Via the options always/never/keep disabled in the program Form, you define how the changes are dealt with in case of a release update.
• Changes will be effective immediately if the edited window has been closed at the time of editing. If it has been open, it has to be closed and opened again.

If you opened the program directly from the menu, the screen mask assigned to the Menu Type Menu Fields will be displayed by default. Depending on the selected menu type, further fields are displayed on the screen or faded out.

Text Search

• Basically, you can click on the search button in every field. However, due to the large amount of data, this process may take some time. By every entry (frame no., field no.), you reduce the time of the search process. You can of course use the Search Function in this program, too.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these basic data

Just like in almost any other program:

• The input mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some data fields may be missing.
• Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
• The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
• If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the dialog window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.

In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark colour, deactivated switches are lighter-coloured.

Menu Type

Field with firmly defined selection options

Via this parameter, you assign a particular type to this menu field. Depending on the selection, you enter another program. This process is made visible by the partial change of the screen structure.

Form No.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every frame (= every screen page/mask) is stored in the system with a unique frame number. This number is to be entered in a field. If you entered this window via the program Form, the corresponding frame number will already be displayed.

Field Number

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every menu field has to be created with a unique number. The frame and field numbers make the menu field unique.

Parent Field

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every subordinate field has to be assigned to the parent field. The assignment takes place by the input of the corresponding field number.

Field Name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars

Internal description of the menu field.

Table Name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars

Internal name of the table (= the frame).

Note:

• Do not make any changes here.

Dis/Enable

Field with firmly defined selection options.

• Disabled
  The option Menu Field is deactivated, i.e. it is not displayed in the screen mask. However it has not been deleted and can be activated at any time via Enable.
• Enable
  The option is displayed in the screen mask.

Read Bias

Permitted input range: numeric

Update bias

Query Bias
