The program description deals with the following:
· Remarks on Program function
· Remarks on Data fields
· Use the Index to find the field explanation required
The dataa for the XML attributes can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed. All attributes of the selected database table can be automatically created with button "Create attributes".
The minimum requirement for update of the XML Import attributes is that the key fields and the fields which are to be imported have been entered.
Click on the graphic for further help with XML Interface.
All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:
Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter the no. of the attribute under which this is to be stored.
Changes or deletions can be made by calling up the data record from entry of the nos. in the key fields. If the nos. are not known they can be selected via Search function.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 32 pos.
The name of the attribute of this database table
Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter the attribute no. from the database table. If the no. is not known use the arrow to the right of the button to call up the options.
Alternatively you can automatically create all attributes in the selected database table with button "Create attributes" and can then delete those which are not required.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 32 pos.
A value which is to be taken over as the default value for data import can be entered in this field. If the value entered is only to apply to the import of new data the option "Default val. only for new data" must be set.
Button activated: The
default value is only accepted for import of new data.
Button deactivated: The default value is accepted always.
Button activated: The
default value is normally not accepted for data import.
Button deactivated: The default value is accepted for data import.
Note:
During data import via XML the data records should not show any default values or values for certain attributes. Import of this data is suppressed if this option is activated.
Example of an XML import file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<supplier xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="supplierexport.xsd">
<supplier>
<supplierno>90001</supplierno>
<suppliername> </suppliername>
</supplier>
In this case the empty attribute for the supplier name will not be imported into the database with default values.
Button activated: This
attribute is a field where entries must be made (e.g. key fields).
Button deactivated: Entries are not necessary for this attribute.
