Using Electronic Journal with CCV ITS
Electronic journal will be written into a specific
folder that needs to have special security setting to meet the requirements for
electronic journal files.
Attributes of Electronic Journal Folder
The folder should have full access only for authorized
persons. All other persons must have only restricted access. In a Windows
environment, this can be done with following access settings (Windows):
- Right-click on the folder, select Properties.
- Tab the Security
tab, click on Advanced.
- In the Advanced
Security Settings window, uncheck the Inherit from... toggle.
- In the Security
popup window, press on Remove.
This clears the previous settings.
- Now press Add
button to add new permission entries.
- In the Select
User or Group popup window, enter the user name of the service
person (or the group name of the service user group). Press Check Names. If the name is
valid, press OK .
- In the Permission
Entry popup menu, allow Full
Control. Please ensure that Apply
onto is set to This
folder, subfolders and files and press OK.
- Add a further entry for the person or group that
is allowed to read the journal files. In the Permission Entry popup menu, allow List Folder / Read Data, Read Attributes, Read Extended Attributes and Read Permissions. This should apply
onto This folder, subfolders and files
as well and press OK in that
window and in the Properties
window.
- Add a further entry for group Everyone. In the Permission Entry popup menu, allow Create Files / Write Data and Create Folders / Append Data. This
should apply onto This folder,
subfolders and files as well and press OK in that window and in the Properties window.
Oscar configuration
The path to the electronic journal folder will be
configured in device configuration.
Implementation
Whenever the driver has to print an electronic journal
entry, it creates a file within the configured folder which contains the
contents passed by the terminal. The file name consists of the workstation id,
date and time as specified in the corresponding device request message.
