To every window in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application, a corresponding help file is assigned. Every single field of a screen page has been created with a name in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application. The field name is connected with the file name by an underline. This connection File name_Field name makes every field unique.
Example:
The help file for the window Branch is
called Branch. The field Company has the internal name CompNo. (file and field names are generally
in English.) This makes the combination Branch_CompNo.
It is unique and exists only once in the entire MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application.
When you call the online help, the names of the file and the field on which the cursor is currently located will not be displayed (default setting). However, you can change this default setting in order to display the file and field names in the title of the help file. This option requires that Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) is installed on your computer.
Close the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application. Open the file /Pathname/bin/oscar.ini with an editor. There you will find the line:
Change it into:
Make this entry even if this line is missing.
Save the file. The next time you start the online help in MICROS Retail OSCAR POS, the names will be displayed.
