Entering texts and setting of local keyboard attributes

The keys defined can be given the text required. Several lines of text can be entered and graphic symbols can be linked in bitmap format. The text attributes (font, size, presentation, colour and direction) and the key attributes (key colour) are taken initially from the global keyboard attributes setting. These settings can, however, be adapted to each key.

Individual key attributes can also be defined for keys. In this case, text entry is only possible for individual key groups. The group marking is intended to simplify the assignment of the same key attributes to several keys. The keys to be handled must be marked.

How to mark a defined key
Mark a defined key by clicking on it with the mouse key. The key then shows a dotted line around the inside.

How to mark defined keys as a group

Mark the groups of defined keys by holding down Cntrl key and clicking on the keys required in succession.

NOTE:
Empty keys cannot be marked.

For group marked keys the key attributes (such as colour, lettering, etc.) can be assigned to all keys after clicking on function "Key texts".

How to define the key attributes for indiv.keys or key groups
Use the right-hand mouse key to open the right-hand mouse menu.

Click on function "Key texts" to open dialog window "Key attributes". Alternatively, this function can be called up from menu "File".

Several lines of text can be entered by clicking on button "Linefeed" at the end of a line (the sequence "\n" is added here).

The next line is entered by setting the cursor after the linefeed symbol "\n" with the mouse and entering the next line.

NOTE:
Please bear in mind the restricted space of a key when entering several lines of text. A text which exceeds the framework of the key will not be printed or displayed. A smaller font size can be set with the text attributes.

How to link a bitmap to a key

Click on button "Bitmap" in section "Text attributes" of dialog window "Key attributes" to open the dialog window "Open".

Search for the bitmap file which is to be linked to the key in the file structure. Further help can be obtained by clicking on "?" in dialog "Open" and then on the object for which help is required.

NOTE:
The required bitmaps should be copied initially into the files in which the program files are also stored. Only bitmaps with the same dimensions as the key should be used to ensure that they can be printed and displayed.

Key sizes (mm) for bitmaps (Pixel)

·        Single key: 13 x 13  mm    50 x  50 Pixel

It is best to use the "Paint" program" of Windows to draw up bitmaps. The colour palette of Paint is identical to the palette of KeyBoard.

Close the dialog window "Keyboard attributes" by clicking on "OK". This confirms the entries.

Click on "Abort" if the local key attributes are not to be changed.
