Minimum / Maximum Extension of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application

A. Client-Server Configuration and Requirements

  1. Max. 2 servers can be deployed per installation (Master Backup).
  2. Max. 2 POS terminals can be connected to a server / client.
  3. Max. 99 clients can be deployed per installation (provided that the server is equipped with the appropriate hardware). Requirements for larger installations are to be inquired about.
  4. It is recommended to equip every store with 1 server (min.). Otherwise, a leased line from the store to the central is necessary.

B. Operating Modules and Keyboards

  1. topcash, topkey have a modular structure and have thus to be ordered.
  2. topcash und topkey can be delivered with 60, 120 or 180 keys.

C. External Customer Display

  1. toplook is operated at a V24 interface (COM 1, topcash). When connected to the COM 1 interface, a power supply is needed.

D. Cash Printer

  1. Several Epson printers (e.g. Epson TM-T88, TM-H6000 or TM-J7100) can be deployed alternatively.
  2. A cash drawer, or alternatively a cash box, can be connected to the cash printers mentioned above.

E. Other Peripherals

  1. Two scanners (a manual scanner and a stationary scanner) can be operated at a terminal. They are to be connected via an interface distributor at COM port or via USB using a USB-to-serial driver.
  2. Several EFT terminals can be connected via serial or IP interface.
  3. A checkout scale can be connected to the terminal card via a COM port. Standard scale protocols (Checkout dialog 01, 02, 03, and 06) are supported.
  4. An Orderman base station can be connected to a COM port. Max. 4 hand-helds per server/client can be operated. The product-specific restrictions apply.
  5. Up to 16 remote printers can be connected to a system unit. For speed reasons, it is strongly recommended to distribute the remote printer connections over multiple system units, i.e. one remote printer per system unit, if possible.
