Shortcuts

The following tables contain all shortcuts available in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application. You can use shortcuts to execute commands without opening the corresponding menu.

Note:
Please note the parameters OMOUSEMODE, OMOUSEMODE1FGCOLORNO and OMOUSEMODE1BGCOLORNO in file "oscar.ini" if the administration terminal is only to be operated via the keyboard.

General Shortcuts
Key	Function	Description
F1	Help context	Opens the context-sensitive online help
F2	Remove list	Removes all entries from the list window.
F3	Remove from list	Removes one entry from the list window.
F4	Search	Searches for a data record. For a more flexible search, you can enter the following requirements in the input window: "*" = Wildcard ">" = greater than ">=" = greater or equal "<" = smaller than "<=" =smaller or equal "<>" = unequal (see also Search Functions)
F5	Save and New	Saves the current data record and then clears the input mask, so you can enter the data for the next record.
Ctrl+S	Save	Saves the current data record keeps it displayed.
F6	Save and Next	Saves the current data record and then displays the next record in the list of the existing data records in the input mask.
F7	Copy Field	Copies the field content of the previous data record into every input field in which you are located. This command can only be activated if you executed the command <F5> beforehand. By use of this command, you can accelerate the data input enormously by copying similar field contents.
F8	Delete Detail
F10	Menu Bar	Selection of the menu bar.

Shortcuts "Object"
Key	Function	Description
F4	Search	Searches for a data record. (see also Search Functions)
Ctrl+N	New	Deletes all entries in the input fields of the current input mask. The entries in the list window will remain. By use of this command, you can add several search results to the search list.
Ctrl+P	Print	Opens the selection mask for printing the basic data.
F2	Remove List	Removes all entries from the list window.
F3	Remove from List	Removes one entry from the list window.
Ctrl+T	Transaction	Starts a transaction (confirmation) in various update programs (e.g. Supplier order).
Ctrl+E	End	Closes the current update program.

Shortcuts "Edit"
Key	Function	Description
Ctrl+S	Save	Saves the current data record and keeps it displayed.
F5	Save+ New	Saves the current data record and then clears the input mask, so you can enter the data for the next record
F6	Save and Next	Saves the current data record and then displays the next record in the list of the existing data records in the input mask.
F7	Copy Field	Copies the field content of the previous data record into every input field in which you are located. This command can only be activated if you executed the command <F5> beforehand. By use of this command, you can accelerate the data input enormously by copying similar field contents
Ctrl+O	Copy Object	Saves the selected data record including all attributes with a different number in the database. Objects are data records such as the object Item, Department, Branch etc. which is stored in the database with a unique key. This command can only be executed after you have selected a data record, entered a new data record number and confirmed via <RETURN>.
Ctrl+R	Copy Object Tree	Copies the selected data record with all tables linked to it with a new unique record number. Object Tree means a data record including all tables linked to it. This command can only be executed after you have selected a data record, entered a new data record number and confirmed via <RETURN>.
Ctrl+D	Delete	Deletes the selected data record. Note: Data records can only be deleted under certain conditions. For example, you cannot delete a record if there are still related references stored in the database.
F8	Delete Detail
ESC	Undo	Cancels the last entries.
All Objects
Ctrl+U	Modify	Changes individual attributes for all data records of a file. Note: This command can only be executed if no single data record has been selected.
Ctrl+X	Delete	Deletes all data records of a file. Note: This command can only be executed if no single data record has been selected.
Ctrl+L	Delete Detail	Deletes individual attributes for all data records of a file. Note: This command can only be executed if no single data record has been selected. Data records can only be deleted under certain conditions. For example, you cannot delete a record if there are still related references stored in the database.

Shortcuts "Navigate"
Key	Function	Description
End	Last Object	Selects the last data record (object) within a file.
Page down	Next Object	Selects the next data record (object) within a file.
Page up	Previous Object	Selects the previous data record (object) within a file.
Pos 1	First Object	Selects the first data record (object) within a file.
Alt+End	Last Field	Selects the last field within a data record.
TAB	Next Field	Selects the next field within a data record.
Shift+TAB	Previous Field	Selects the previous field within a data record.
Alt+Pos1	First Field	Selects the first field within a data record.
Alt+1	Focus on Frame	Changes to the currently open frame.
Alt+0	Focus on dialog box	Changes to the dialog box (selection)

Shortcuts "Navigate tabbed interface"
Key	Function	Description
Ctrl+Tab	Next tab	The next tab is selected.
Ctrl+Shift+Tab	Previous tab	The previous tab is selected.
Alt+Cursor-Right	Next program of a tab group	The next program in a tab group is selected.
Alt+Cursor-Left	Previous program of a tab group	The previous program in a tab group is selected.
Ctrl+Plus	Next tab of an update program	The next tab in an update program is selected.
Ctrl+Minus	Previous tab of an update program	The previous tab in an update program is selected.
