This chapter lists messages returned by the Oracle Fail Safe server and displayed by Oracle Fail Safe Manager and cmdlets. The messages are listed in ascending numeric order. For each message, the probable cause of the error and the recommended action to correct it are provided.
Cause: The cluster service is not running on the local system.
Cause: The TCL script used by Oracle Enterprise Manager to discover the cluster cannot be created.
Cause: Cannot add the TCL file to the Nmiconf.lst file in the Oracle_Home\Network\Agent\Config
directory.

Cause: Unable to get the value of the ORACLE_HOME environment variable.
Cause: The Oracle Net TNS_ADMIN environment variable does not contain a valid directory specification.
Cause: Unable to find any supported storage resources in the cluster.
Cause: A resource in this group needs a network name resource; however, the network name resource could not be found in the group.

Cause: A new installation of Oracle Fail Safe has been performed and there are existing Fail Safe groups in the cluster.
Cause: You must restart the cluster nodes after installation. It is likely that the nodes have not been restarted.

Cause: The Validate Standalone Database operation found a duplicate instance on the non-owning cluster node. This will cause problems if you attempt to add this database to a group. The standalone database instance must be unique in the cluster to make the database fail-safe.
Cause: The verify operation found a duplicate database instance on the specified node but when asked if Oracle Fail Safe should repair the problem, you clicked No. The verify operation tries to continue without fixing the specified problem.
Cause: Failed to determine the owner or starting node for the clusterwide operation.
Cause: The Oracle Net configuration file has been updated.

Cause: The XML document is not well formed. It does not have a valid format.
Cause: The caller is searching for a node that does not exist. This message provides information to the code processing the XML document that an object does not exist.
Cause: The XML document passed by the caller needs an object name. The XML document might not be using the proper Oracle Fail Safe schema.
Cause: The XML document has an invalid command tag that is not supported by the Oracle Fail Safe protocol.
Cause: Failed to add the specified registry key for the cluster to replicate.
