Logging into Oracle Retail Order Management System

Launching Oracle Retail Order Management System in a new window: When you select the Oracle Retail Order Management System URL, it opens in a separate window. The new window displays the Oracle Retail Order Management System Login Screen, while the other window might display a message indicating that Oracle Retail Order Management System is open in another browser window. The new window provides access to Oracle Retail Order Management System without the address bar and back button. Once the login window opens in this window, it is safe to close the original window displaying the message.

Note: If you start Oracle Retail Order Management System without using the separate window, the entire contents of each screen might not be displayed correctly.

Oracle Retail Order Management System Login Screen

Use this screen to sign in to the Oracle Retail Order Management System application. You must provide a valid user ID and password and select Sign In.

Successful login: If the user ID and password are valid, the system authenticates the user, authorizing the user to access the application, and logs the user into the Oracle Retail Order Management System application.

Note: When you first login, if the user’s password will expire within 15 days, the system displays the error message Your password will expire in X days, where X is the number of days remaining. You will need to change the user’s current password to a new password.

If the login screen indicates that your user ID and password are invalid: This situation can occur if:

• the user ID does not exist. Log in to Oracle Retail Order Management System using another user ID and advance to Working with User Records (WUSR) to verify the user ID exists.

• an invalid password was entered. Log in to Oracle Retail Order Management System using another user ID and advance to Working with User Records (WUSR) to reset the user’s password.

• the user’s password has expired. In this situation, the system displays a Password Expired screen where you can provide a new password.

• the connection to the database server is temporarily lost. You can confirm the problem by checking the CWDirect log. To correct the situation, restart Oracle Retail Order Management System.

• the user ID is disabled. The Status of a user ID is stored in the Users table and indicates whether a user ID is *ENABLED or *DISABLED. Log in to Oracle Retail Order Management System using another user ID and advance to Working with User Records (WUSR) to re-enable the user.

See the Administration guide for step-by-step instructions on how to set up users and about password requirements, and for additional setup requirements.
