This figure shows a two-node Oracle Capture cluster.

In this figure, requests from the Internet are handled by a load balancer in the web tier, which routes each request to either WEBHOST1 or WEBHOST2 in the web tier. Oracle HTTP Server is installed on WEBHOST1 and WEBHOST2.

CaptureHOST1 and CaptureHOST2 are the application tier hosts. The Oracle WebLogic Administration Server is installed on CaptureHOST1 and CaptureHOST2.

An Oracle Capture cluster (named Capture_Cluster) is set up on CaptureHOST1 and CaptureHOST2, with managed server WLS_Capture1 running on CaptureHOST1 and managed server WLS_Capture2 running on CaptureHOST2.

Administration Servers are set up on both CaptureHOST1 and CaptureHOST2. The Administration Server on CaptureHOST1 is active while the CaptureHOST2 server is passive.

Arrows point from the two CaptureHOST boxes to an Oracle RAC database in the data tier.
