This figure shows the Financial Reporting single instance architecture, including the Reporting Services, Scheduler Service, and Printing Service.

Components are represented as boxes organized into five different levels. Arrows from the boxes cross the barrier between levels to indicate the connection between components. The five levels are Client, Web Access, Services, Data Access, and Data Storage.

The Client tier contains four boxes.

The Web Access tier contains four boxes. Three of them are stacked on top of each other.

The standalone box is colored light blue and labeled WebServices API for Job Execution. It has a light blue arrow connecting it to the light blue Server JAVA API (Internal) box in the Services tier.

The stacked boxes include the following:

The Services tier is dominated by a large Server JAVA API (Internal) box that is colored light blue and contains two subsections. The two subsections are Reporting Services (RMI Objects embedded in Web Application) and Scheduler Service.

Four light blue arrows point out of the Reporting Services subsection, and one light blue arrow points out of the Scheduler Service subsection. The first light blue arrow from the left points at a light blue box labeled Printing Services. The next two arrows point at boxes in the Data Access tier. The last two arrows cross through the Data Access tier and point at disks in the Data Storage tier.

The Data Access tier has four boxes.

The Data Storage tier contains one box and three discs.

The box and the first disc from the left are the Essbase and WebCat Storage mentioned above.

The next disc is labeled HIT Registry, Annotation Tables, and FR Scheduler Tables. The light blue arrow from Reporting Services in the Services tier that passes through JDBC in Data Access terminates here.

The last disc is called ESS Job Information and Storage. The light blue arrow from the Scheduler Service box in the Services tier that passes through JDBC in Data Access terminates here.
