FAQ - How do I set up a Tour Series (recurring block)?

Criteria	Description
Custom Tour Series	Use the Custom option to create multiple copies of a block that will be returning at varied or specific arrival dates regardless of the weekday (such as the 15th of every month, on the last day of the Quarter, or on each of our birthdays this year).
Periodic Tour Series	Use the Periodic option to create multiple copies of a block that will be returning at regular time intervals and arriving on the same day of the week (such as every Monday, or Wednesday through Friday every 4 weeks).
Source Block	An existing active block or a new block to copy as a template for this tour series.
Tour Code	The code that will be applied to all block copies that belong to this tour series. (Does not apply to the source block.) Mandatory setting for Custom and Periodic Tour Series.
Cross Property Copy	Select the Cross Property Copy check box to allow property selection for the block copy. Available with Custom Tour Series.
Tour Start Date	Establishes two things: (1) the starting date for the series, and (2) the day pattern for the subsequent blocks in this tour series. For example, if the original source block begins on a Monday, but you want all subsequent copies in the series to begin on Wednesday instead, set the starting date here on a Wednesday. Mandatory setting for Periodic Tour Series.
Tour Frequency	The number of weeks between the tour series blocks; for example, enter 2 for every 2 weeks. Mandatory setting for Periodic Tour Series.
Number of Blocks	The number of copies to create for the series (how many times the block will return after the first time). This number is in addition to the source block. For example, if you want to set up a new monthly corporate meeting for 6 months, you would create a new block (1st month) and 5 copies for the series (5 months) so your Number of Blocks for the Tour Series would be 5. Mandatory setting for Periodic Tour Series.
Initiate	Select the Initiate button to generate the tour block series based on your type and criteria.
Reset	Select the Reset button to clear the form, allowing you to start with a new type or criteria, or to exit without creating the tour series.

Note - If there is missing data or the block codes entered are not unique, you may receive an error at this stage; go back using the Previous button and edit the data, and then return back to the Review stop to save your changes.

1.	Create a new block (or open an existing block) as your source block to copy, and then select the Create a Tour Series link from the Block's "I want to..." area. The Create Tour Series Train opens.
2.	Choose to set up a Custom or a Periodic Tour Series.
3.	If Custom, select if the tour blocks can be created in multiple properties. If Periodic, enter the Starting Date for the series, how often they will return (Tour Frequency), and the number of additional times they will return (Number of Blocks).
4.	Enter the Tour Code that will be applied to all blocks that belong to this tour.
5.	Select Initiate.
6.	If Custom, select the Property, enter the Arrival dates, choose Starting Status, and unique Block Code (the Block Name automatically populates). If Periodic, choose their Starting Status and enter unique Block Codes. The Block Name and Arrival dates automatically populate. You can edit them if necessary.
7.	Select Next (or the Attributes stop). Choose the Attributes from the source block that you wish to copy to the new tour series blocks.
8.	Select Next (or the Review stop). Review the initiated block tour series, uncheck any that you do not want to create.
9.	Select Save Changes. The Results screen confirms that the tour series blocks are successfully created.
