FAQ - Why should I create a Profile?

OPERA uses profiles to store a host of details about the guests, companies, agents, business sources, contacts, and groups you do business with. A profile contains extensive demographic information (including name, mailing address, email address, phone number, etc.) as well as particulars such as language, preferences, credit card details, loyalty program memberships, negotiated rates, reservation and stay histories, other associated profiles, along with other statistical data.

Profiles are global — they are shared among the properties that belong to a chain or (possibly) a chain brand. So, if you have permission to view and edit profiles, you could access any profile, regardless of the property in which it was created.
