FAQ - How can I access credit card authorizations and history?

Generating an Interim Bill or an Advance Bill includes a step requiring Folio Settlement. During the Folio Settlement step, you can access the credit card Authorization and History functions to seek additional credit card authorizations or to research the guest credit card history during the current stay. You can use automated and manual methods of seeking credit card authorization.

Card holder information Current account information Select to seek authorization for additional charge amounts Displays history of additional charge authorization success, failed, date, approval codes, etc. Displays list of searchable prior authorizations, payments, refunds, failures

Additional and Manual Functions

Select Additional on the Authorization & History screen to seek automated approval for additional amounts on the credit card.

Settlement - Actions - Auth&Hist - Additional

Select Manual on the Authorization & History screen if you manually contact the credit card processing company for approval. Enter an Approval Code from the card processing company.

Credit Card History

You can see a complete history of a guest's credit card authorizations, payments, refunds, and failures during the guest's stay by selecting Credit Card History. The Credit Card History screen is offered at various points while working in the Authorization & History function.

  • Use the check boxes to filter your search for credit card history by Authorizations, Payments, Refunds, or Failures.
  • Scroll left or right to view additional information including Transaction Type, Authorization/Settlement, User, and more.
