Viewing ADS Error Messages
The Alternate Distribution System (ADS) enables guests to book rooms directly into OPERA from an external search and booking source. When communications issues with the ADS interface occur, OPERA generates error messages that you can review and process.
Use the ADS tab on the Monitoring Workspace to search and review availability, rate, and inventory error messages. You can expand each search result for additional information about the error message.
Error message search results provide the following information:
- The property connected to the ADS interface.
- The error type (rate, booking limit, availability).
- The channel (based on the location or property selected).
- The channel rate code associated with the error message (only when Rate and Availability types are selected).
- The channel room type associated with the error message.
- The ECHO token (a unique identifier attached to the message).
- The message status (ACK, NACK, RESEND).
- The availability restriction type (appears only when attached to Availability type error messages).
- Message creation date and time.
- Update date and time (can be either of the following: The date/time the message was received back into OPERA with the status of the External ADS; or the date/time the message was re-sent after a failed attempt to reach the external ADS system).
How Do I . . .
Process ADS Error Messages
The ADS generates error messages when communications issues disable a response to an external booking source. To resend error messages to the ADS:
- Select the ADS tab, then search for error messages.
- Select one or more error messages from your search results.
- Select the Process link to return the message(s) to ADS. A pop-up message confirms successful processing
