Edit Rate Protection

The Rate Codes function lets you create and edit rate codes. A Rate Codes train guides you through the process of creating new rates. The edit function presents access to multiple screens for adjusting financial details, packages, schedules, rate information, and more.

From the Rate Codes jump, select New to open the Rates Codes train. The train presents four stops in the process.

The Rate Code Definition Stop lets you identify the Property name, Room Types included in the new Rate Code, and Start/End dates of the Rate Code. Create the Rate Code identifier and include a description.

Fields

Description

Rate Category

Several Rate Codes grouped under a single title, for example, grouping GOV, AARP, and AGENT into a Rate Category titled DISCOUNT.

Market Code

Codes used to identify and track market sources of property business, for example, government employees, conventions, corporate marketing programs, etc.

Source Code

Codes used to identify and track referral sources of property business, for example, travel agents, web site, etc.

Display Set

A rate code grouping under a defined name such as corporate, discount, and promotional.

Rate Group

A group of rate codes under a common group name.

Display Seq.

Determines the sequence that the Display Set appears in the list of Display Sets.

Save and go to Presentation opens the Rate Schedules jump. You can create Rate Schedules for your new Rate Codes. Schedules include: where you: Dates, Adults, Children in Own Room, Attributes, and add Packages to your Rate Code, if wanted.
