Flash Mode lets you access interactive features on a document that are supported by Flash, such as widgets. In Flash mode, you can also perform some data manipulations, such as sorting and pivoting objects on the document.
You can do the following in Flash Mode:
Interact with widgets such as Gauges and Time Series Sliders. For example, you can use the graph controller in the Time Series Slider to select a time range for data.
Sort data in grid reports.
Pivot report objects from rows to columns and columns to rows in grid reports.
Quickly switch between views of a report, such as between Grid view and Graph view.
Note: Performance of documents in Flash mode may be affected by several factors, including the number of users working in the system at the same time, the user's machine, and network bandwidth.
Prerequisites
You must have the Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer.
You must have Flash Mode enabled in your User Preferences. To do this, from the Admin Menu, select User Preferences. click Report Services under Settings, and select the Enable Flash Mode check box.
To switch to Flash Mode:
Run the document.
While viewing a document, from the Home menu, select Flash Mode. If Flash Mode is not displayed in the Home menu, it may not be enabled in the project defaults or for the particular document you are viewing.
