You can import data from a file, such as an Excel, CSV, or text file into XBRi project metadata with minimum project design requirements.
Once you define attributes and metrics from your imported data and publish the data as an Intelligent Cube, you can create reports, documents, or Visual Insight analyses using the published data.
Some common uses for this quick import feature include:
Quickly integrating data into XBRi as part of a proof-of-concept
Importing and reporting on personalized data from various data sources
Immediately building reports, documents, and analyses without having to "model" the data source
Modifying the data in your data source, then republishing or refreshing the Intelligent Cube to quickly update the data in your reports, documents, and analyses
For background information about importing data, including best practices information and steps to import data, see About importing data.
You must have Import Data privileges.
The following option is available:
File: Select this option to import data from a file. Choose the appropriate options on the Select a File page to specify the file you want to upload. For detailed steps to import data from a file, see Importing data from a file.
A space usage summary is displayed on the right of the Import Data page and shows the amount of memory currently being occupied by published Intelligent Cubes, as well as the maximum amount of memory allocated for the Intelligent Cubes by the Administrator. XBRi will display a warning message if you are close to reaching this quota. Directly below the space usage summary is a list of published Intelligent Cubes, with the name, size, owner, and last modified date of each Intelligent Cube.
