You can add layouts to a document or dashboard or import documents using the Insert Layout dialog box. Once you have added multiple layouts to the document, users can easily switch between layouts by clicking the tabs at the top of the document, making it easy to display related data. XBRi provides templates for both dashboard and document layouts, as well as the ability to import an existing document as a new layout. If you choose to import an existing document as a new layout, the formatting, controls, and any dataset reports the imported document makes use of are also included, and the imported document is displayed on a new layout tab. Steps are below to add a layout to a document.
To add a layout to a document or dashboard
Open the document or dashboard in Design or Editable Mode.
From the Insert menu, select Layout. The Insert Layout dialog box opens.
Do one of the following to create a new layout:
To create a new layout using a dashboard template, click the Dashboard Layouts tab, then select a template.
To create a new layout using a document template, click the Document Layouts tab, then select a template.
Note: You can select the iPhone Map Information Window template to quickly create a blank layout designed for use as an Information Window on a mobile device.
To create a new layout using a saved document, click the Browse Documents tab. Browse to and select the saved document that you want to import.
Click OK. The new layout is added to the document.
