You can link attributes across datasets in a dashboard using the Link Attributes Editor. Each row in the Link Attributes Editor represents a pair of linked attributes.
The following options are available:
Add a Link: Select this option to create a new link between two attributes.
Show Attribute Forms: Select this option to choose the attribute form to use to link attributes.
You have already created a dashboard that contains at least two datasets.
To link attributes across datasets in a dashboard:
Click the name of the dashboard to run it.
If the Datasets panel is not displayed, from the View menu, select Datasets Panel.
In the Datasets panel, right-click the first attribute to link, then select Link to Other Datasets. The Link Attributes Editor opens. Note: If the dataset that contains the first attribute includes multiple tables, right-click the attribute, point to Link Attribute, then select Link to Other Datasets.
From the Links to drop-down list, select the attribute to link the selected attribute to. You can type the name of an attribute in the field to narrow the list of choices.
You can define which attribute forms to link the two attributes based on. For example, you can create a link using the ID form of the first attribute and the DESC form of the second attribute. Note: At least one of the attribute forms you link must be the ID attribute form. Click Show Attribute Forms, then perform the following steps:
From the drop-down list next to the first attribute, select the attribute form to base the link on.
From the drop-down list next to the second attribute, select the attribute form to base the link on.
For each pair of attributes to link together, click Add a Link, then repeat the appropriate steps above to define each link. You can remove a link by hovering the cursor over a link and clicking X to delete it.
Click OK
when finished to apply your changes. The selected attributes are linked
together and an icon is displayed next to the
name of each linked attribute in the Datasets panel.
