The Report Services project defaults page allows you to set default options for Report Services documents, such as whether to enable Flash Mode or how the width of the document is calculated.
The following project defaults are available under Report Services. These options apply to Report Services documents and dashboards:
Dots per inch (DPI): Specify the resolution in which documents are displayed.
Note: Images with a high DPI count appear sharper than those with a lower DPI count.
Alignment grid density: Specify the density of the grid to which objects snap. This determines how easy it is to shift objects around a document. The options are:
Low
Medium
High
Selection Behavior: Specify whether the drawing of a selection box selects objects that it intersects.
To select only objects completely covered by the selection box, select Fully Enclosed.
To select an object even if it only partially covers that object, select Partially Enclosed.
Document Width Mode Calculation: This option, in conjunction with the Document width mode option in the Properties dialog box, affects the width of the document, as follows:
When both the Document width mode and the Document Width Mode Calculation options are set to Automatic, the width of the document displayed will be as wide as necessary to show all the content on the page.
When the Document width mode option is set to Fixed and the Document Width Mode Calculation preference is set to Automatic, the width of the document displayed will not grow to accommodate additional content. This may cause parts of the document to be cut off in some cases.
When the Document Width Mode Calculation preference is set to Off, the Document width mode option has no effect on the document. This may cause parts of the document to be cut off in some cases.
Tip: You may be able to increase document performance by doing the following: If a document's Document width mode is set to Automatic, set it to Fixed. If you switch a document from Fixed width mode to Automatic width mode, this may result in slower document execution.
Document Section Height Mode Calculation: This option, in conjunction with the Height can shrink and Height can grow options in the Properties and Formatting dialog box, affects the height of the document sections, as follows:
When the Document Section Height Mode Calculation option is set to Automatic, the Height can shrink and Height can grow options are applied to the height of the document sections.
When the Document Section Height Mode Calculation option is set to Off, the Height can shrink and Height can grow options do not affect the height of the document sections.
Default Document Execution Mode: This option allows you to set the default display mode in which to run documents:
When the Default Document Execution Mode option is set to Read from Document, the documents are executed based on the formatting options selected in the Document Properties dialog box.
When the Default Document Execution Mode option is set to PDF, the documents are always executed in PDF format.
Embed Fonts in Visual Insight Mode: Determine whether to use embedded fonts to display analyses in Visual Insight Mode.
Automatic: Display analyses using embedded fonts, if they are supported for the current locale.
Off: Display analyses using non-embedded fonts.
Default color theme for new dashboard: Select the default theme (overall look and color selection) you want for new dashboards, Light or Dark.
Enable Flash Mode: Determine whether or not to enable Flash Mode.
Allow Office to refresh documents after exporting to Excel: Select if you want to be able to refresh documents after you have exported them to Excel.
Use floating toolbar to apply selector changes: Determine if the floating toolbar can apply changes to a selector.
Ping Server Time (minutes): Enter a value in this field to keep the users' sessions from timing out while they are manipulating complex Flash dashboards. For example, if this value is five, then the connection is refreshed every five minutes.
Click Apply to apply the changes.
Note: Clicking Load Default Values will reset all options to their default settings.
