You can choose to convert a Visual Insight quick dashboard into a document. Once converted, each element of the quick dashboard will be displayed as a document control. For example, the Filters panel will be displayed as a grouping of selectors, a Heat Map visualization will be displayed as a Heat Map widget, and layouts within a quick dashboard will be displayed as document layouts. Steps to convert a quick dashboard are below.
You must have the necessary privileges to save a document.
You must have the Edit Dashboard and Run Dashboard privileges.
To convert a quick dashboard to a document
Click the name of a quick dashboard to run it.
From the quick dashboard toolbar, click the Convert to Document icon . A confirmation message is displayed. Click OK. The quick dashboard is converted to a document and displayed in Design Mode.
Click the Save As icon . The Save As dialog opens with the original quick dashboard name as the default in the Name field.
Do one of the following, depending on whether or not you want to create a new folder in which to save the document:
To select an existing folder in which to save your document, from the Save in drop-down list, choose Shared Reports or My Reports, and browse to the desired folder.
To create a new folder in which to save the document, click the Create New Folder icon . The Create Folder dialog box opens. Perform the following steps to create a new folder:
In the Folder field, type a name for the folder. You cannot create a folder in the same project that has the same name as an existing folder.
In the Description field, type a description for the new folder.
Click Create Folder. The new folder is created and displayed.
Type a name and description for the document in the Name and Description fields.
Click OK to save the document. If a document with the same name already exists in the folder, a Confirm Overwrite message appears. Click Yes to overwrite the existing document.
