You can select formatting options for a Google Map visualization in a dashboard, such as whether to display map markers or a density map in the visualization. The following options are available:
Title: To display a title bar for the map, select Show Titlebar. The rest of the options in this area become available.
Use the following options to format the title’s font:
Select the font type from the first drop-down list.
Apply Bold, Italic, Underline, or Strikethrough formatting to the text, by clicking the appropriate icon.
Select the font size from the second drop-down list.
Select the font color from the color palette.
Fill Color: Select the title’s background color.
Alignment: Select how the title text is aligned: on the right, centered, or on the left.
Container: Use the following options to format the border of the container in which the map is displayed:
Border Style: Select the line style to use to display the borders of the container.
Border Color: Select the line color to use to display the borders of the container.
Map Options: Use the following options to format the display of the map:
Map Style: Select the display theme to use when showing the map, such as Satellite or Terrain.
Map Type: Select the type of map to display. The options are:
Marker: Select this option to display a map with bubble or image markers.
Density: Select this option to display a density map.
Marker Type: Select the type of map marker to display on the map, such as Bubbles or Pins. (Available if the Map Type option is set to Marker.)
Color Bands: Select the color theme to use to show locations on the map. For example, to display areas with a low density of locations of interest as blue and areas with a high density as red, select the color theme that changes from blue to red. (Available if the Map Type option is set to Density.)
Zoom behavior on filtering: Determine whether to refit the map area displayed in the visualization when the user selects map locations.
Keep current zoom level (default): Select this option to keep the current level of magnification when locations are selected on the map
Dynamically change zoom level: Select this option to zoom in on and refit the contents of the visualization to best display the selected locations on the map.
Show Legend: Determine whether or not a legend is displayed for the map. The legend shows the relationship between the color of each location and the metric value for that location. By default, the check box is cleared, meaning that the legend is hidden.
To select formatting options for a Google Map visualization:
Click the name of a dashboard to run it, then click the Google Map visualization.
On the Properties panel, select
the appropriate options to format the visualization, as described
above. Note: If the Properties
panel is not displayed, from the View
menu, select Properties Panel.
If the Properties panel is hidden behind another panel, click the
Properties icon to display the Properties
panel.
