When you run a report or document that has links to a target report or document, you can execute the link using one of several available methods. You can execute a link from one or more records. Users need execute permissions on both the source and the target reports to execute the link.
Note: Because documents can contain multiple grids, the links in documents are specific to each grid.
To execute a link:
Run a report or document.
Select one or more records in the grid. You can select multiple records using the CTRL (non-consecutive rows) or SHIFT (consecutive rows) keys.
Right click on a selected record and choose Link from the menu, click the Link icon in the toolbar, or choose Link from the Data menu. If you selected a single record, you can also double click on the record.
If the report or document has more than one target report or document, this displays pop-up dialog prompting you to select from the available target reports and documents. In that case, click on a target to execute the link.
If the report has only one target, the link is automatically executed.
This displays the target report or document with data related to the passed attribute elements from the source. If the link is configured to present the prompts in the target, the prompts are displayed first.
